01

Project overview

Designing a scalable content operating system.

02

Business challenge

Walmart Connect’s content operation had become increasingly complex across Marketing, Product, Creative, Merchandising, and Legal. Planning and production were happening across different processes and tools, making it harder to maintain visibility, consistency, and alignment.

03

My role and responsibilities

As Manager of Marketing Strategy & Planning, I owned the enterprise content strategy and planning framework — the single system teams across Marketing, Product, Creative, Merchandising, and Legal would plan against.

04

Research, insights, or opportunity

Stakeholder research and workflow analysis surfaced the same story in every room: teams weren’t short on ideas, they were short on shared visibility. A centralized enterprise editorial calendar — with governance standards and Legal review built in from the start — was the opportunity hiding inside the friction.

05

Strategic approach

I conducted stakeholder research and workflow analysis to identify friction points and translate team needs into a scalable content framework. I developed governance standards, editorial workflows, and formal requirements for a centralized enterprise editorial calendar, then built the business case for senior leadership.

06

Execution and deliverables

The work spanned governance standards, editorial workflows, cross-functional operating rhythms, and integrated editorial plans aligned to audience needs, product initiatives, and key business moments. Alongside the framework, I led an audit of 1,200+ content assets and turned the patterns and gaps into executive recommendations on strategy, production priorities, and resourcing.

07

Results and impact

The business case earned senior-leadership support, and the recommended solution was adopted organization-wide — a clearer foundation for enterprise content planning and greater visibility across every team that touches it. The audit findings went straight to the executive table, shaping strategy, production priorities, and resource allocation.

Lessons learned

Structure isn’t the enemy of creativity. It’s what gives a good idea a way to survive contact with a big organization.
